Girls on the Run is so much FUN!

Madison and I ran the Girls on the Run Celebration 5K on Thursday night. It was awesome and I am so proud of Madison and our whole team. What a powerful and uplifting experience for these young girls. During the course of the season they learn about healthy habits both physical and mental. They learn to treat other girls with respect and kindness. They learn that their bodies are different and everyone has some differences. They learn about teamwork and have complete positive encouragement from each other and the coaches.

Congratulations Madison and the Dix Street Girls on the Run teams!

Points of View #2

This is the second installment of the "Points of View" project from the Jason D. Moore blog. He supplies the straight-out-of-the-camera image and we make our own adjustments and add a creative touch.

Grocery Savings - BIGTIME!

This is from a blog I love to visit. Check it out at

$50 in coupons from Kraft.

These are high value coupons - mostly $1.00. I shopped at Wal-Mart last night and got some great deals and then used my coupons on top of that. Triscuits and Wheat Thins are on rollback for $2.00 and I had a $1.00 off coupon. Each box was $1.00. This was just one example.

Happy Shopping, uh I mean SAVING!

McKinley's First Ballet Recital

McKinley is a student at the Patti Herm School of Dance and tonight was their recital. The theme was "It's a Small World."

McKinley's class performed "Alouettte" from the Dora World Music CD, which represented the country France.

As you can see, she has no problem hamming it up in front of an auditorium full of spectators.

She was very excited to receive a trophy from mom, a ballerina picture frame from Grandma Sherry and some beautiful flowers from Grandma Meme.

She told me more than once after I had applied her makeup and done up her hair that she looked like a movie star.

I don't know if mom's heart can handle movie star, but she certainly was the star of the show in our eyes.
Good job Kinner!
