You have to love a man who will dress up as Santa, the Easter Bunny, a clown and even a Roman Soldier because he loves his wife and kids! Chuck was asked by our church to help with Vacation Bible School this week and agreed to be a Roman Soldier. He and Isaac would take turns on different nights being a Roman Soldier guarding Paul. The soldier in the script is named Brutus but with obvious differences between Isaac and Chuck they thought that it may be less confusing for them both to not be called the same name and knowing the children would find the name Tootus memorable and funny...Chuck was named Tootus. Gotta love a man in a costume with a name like Tootus :)

While we were in Pentwater with our church family, I took Karli's senior pictures. You can't find a more beautiful area than the dunes and beaches of Lake Michigan.

Dustin & Todd

I had a blast shooting engagement pictures with Dustin and Todd yesterday at Milham Park. We had the perfect day and weather. We walked all over the park and tried to avoid goose poop :)

We even took a few family shots with Logan and 4 legged family member, Oscar.

Chasing Sunsets

Ever chased a sunset? Once in a while the sun will start to set and you just know it's going to be a great one. About two weeks ago, the sun started to set and I just knew so I hopped in my car and started chasing....
Looking for something to photograph with the sunset as a backdrop. The above images were taken between Otsego and Allegan on the road my dad lives on.
This one was on the opposite side of the road near Pine Creek. I was on my way home and came around the curve at Pine Creek and saw this beautiful reflection on the Kalamazoo River. I stopped and backed up - not a good idea I realized because people coming around the corner couldn't see me - and got the shot.
I will start working on Pentwater pix and post some soon.
Have a great day and if you see me at dusk I am probably chasing a sunset :)

Well all, we are headed out for a week of rest and relaxation so you won't get to see anything new here until we get home. We are off to Pentwater for a week of camping with our church. I will share pix when we get back!

Kennedy's Camping Pix

Kennedy made this beautiful patriotic place mat...

...caught some fish (and even baited her own hooks!)...

...and licked the pool??? Whose kid is this anyway? I'm saving this one for graduation blackmail!
Must be all that chlorine has gone to the child's brain. She would live in the water if we let her!

Madison's Camping Pix

Madison had lots of fun on our camping trip playing with cousins and friends. She got a cute "tatoo" on her leg...

...played in the pool everyday....
...and even got a hole in one!

Plainwell Photo Contest

So I am scrambling and last minute-ing (as usual) to take some pictures for a photo contest put on by the City of Plainwell. I would love to HEAR FEEDBACK (anybody there???) on which of these photos you - my faithful and loyal bloggy friends - think I should enter...

I am going to get back out hopefully every night and take more pictures so check back and pick your favorite each day.

We watched fireworks in Sturgis during our camping trip and even though I forgot some essential firework photography equipment (tripod and remote shutter release cable) I got a few images I liked. I held the camera as steady as possible against my body (instead of in front of my face) to try to eliminate camera shake during long exposures. I left the shutter open about 3.2 seconds (camera set on shutter priority) on all these shots.

McKinley's Camping Pix

McKinley enjoyed the fireworks... (We went to Sturgis on Friday and then Twin Mills had fireworks also on Saturday night)
...she made a hauling at the candy scramble...
...and created a beautiful drawing of her hugging her daddy for the sidewalk chalk contest.

Twin Mills Camping

This is the second year we have gone with a group to Twin Mills Campground in Howe, Indiana. It's only about 15 minutes from Shipshewana (which is open all weekend long over the 4th of July!) This year we took 11 families and had a blast! Here are a couple pictures to get the week started. I will add a few more each day - hopefully :)
