OHS JV Soccer

I know absolutely nothing about soccer. When I was in high school, girls soccer and girls softball were the same season - no choice! I went to the JV game last night and looking at the shots now, I think next time I will stand on the other end of the field because I ended up with the backs of the Otsego guys and fronts of the "other" team. So live and learn...or shoot and learn!

I Heart Faces

Every week the I Heart Faces blog calls for photo submissions for a certain topic. This week is "Candid" and this is my submission - even though there is not a face in my picture :)

Jacobs Family

I had a wonderful time with this adorable family yesterday. What beautiful children they have! That was about the easiest job I've ever done. I don't think you can take a bad picture of these cuties!
He looks so grown up!

Twins can be double trouble but these two are double cute!

A fave!

What a gorgeous family!

Behind three great kids are two awesome parents!

Just a walk in the park!
I love how mom and dad are both looking at the girls and big brother is looking at the camera.

Thank you so much for letting me photograph your family!

WMU vs Miami

I had a blast shooting from the sidelines of the Western game on Saturday night. It was quite the learning experience. The lighting is so tricky when it starts to get dark. Pretty much anything I shot after the first quarter was worthless but I did get a couple good shots...

...of Matt Giraud!

...do a little dance...get down tonight...

...okay a couple of actual football shots too!

Are You Ready For Some Football??

I am taking a sports photography class this semester at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts so prepare yourself to see lots of sports posts! Tonight I headed to my old alma-mater, Otsego High School, to get some shots of the Freshman and JV football teams. My dad was a high school football coach for many years and I think all that football talk going into my brain may pay off because it helps to know about football when shooting pictures because you can anticipate what may happen next. Always good to be one step ahead! Well enjoy the pictures!

Pillot Family

I have three kids so I thought I knew something about being busy with little ones until I met with the Pillot family to take some family pictures. Now this is one beautiful family but I'm not sure how momma is still sane - twin two year olds and a three month old...whew I'm exhausted just thinking about it! Seriously though I have never met two more polite and caring two year olds in my life. I took along a little friend, a monkey stuffed animal, to help entertain/relax the kids and they took such good care of my monkey! After the first few shots I knew I had to rethink photography...I put the camera on continuous shooting mode and keep snapping, praying for some good shots! Posing wasn't in the cards so...Go with the flow....

...just look how beautiful this family is...
....what a sweet moment...

...she has eyes to kill for...
...daddy's a pilot so this little guy brought his own sweet ride...

First Day of School

Kennedy started first grade yesterday and Madison is now in 4th grade. Wow! Time flies! They both reported a good day yesterday. Kennedy rode the bus while Madison opted to be dropped off again today. Crazy as it seems - the girls brought home their fundraiser yesterday. They like to hit the ground running - or should I say "fun-running" - their fundraise is a fun run :)
